International Women's Day!!

Until recently, even I was of the opinion that we do not really need a separate day to celebrate the being of a woman. But with the increasing number of negative incidents every single day, it pains to accept that though we are in the 21st century, people with the same old cruel mentality that look upon woman as their assets rather than a priced possession still exists among us. I wonder how far we are still from the day where we - the female gender can walk carefree in any street, during any time of day or night without the fear of being groped or judged or harassed.

I think it is time we finally take it upon each of us and break the stereotype ourselves rather than wait for the whole world to change. Purple being the universal color chosen for Women's day stands for royalty, wisdom, power and ambition. Also for independence, pride and so much more. Independence is probably one of the priciest gifts anybody would wish for. In today's world, where nothing is really certain it is very important that we are self reliant. Courage and independence is something which we should strive for today and everyday. For one if marriage and kitchen is the ultimatum of life, do not let that thought shudder your goal of achieving higher goals in your career and building yourself to be a better person everyday.

Let this year be more of "You". Let this year be more of you saying "No" for yourself rather than saying "Yes" to comfort others. Let this year be hugging more of your broken parts and spilling love to all corners where the cracks were. Let this year be a year to live that childhood dream and embrace life and love more. Let this year be a year to invite more love and forgive often. Let this year make you realize to value yourself more rather than believe other when they made you feel unworthy. 

For some everyday is a struggle. Somewhere, there is a girl who wakes up 4AM in the morning, walks 2KM to wait in a line for an hour to fetch a bucket of clean water for her family. Somewhere, there is a working girl reaching home at 12AM to be welcomed by bursting of an angry father and a worried mother to reach home early. Somewhere there is a girl waiting just to get an hour of uninterrupted sleep escaping a bad dream! 

Let this year be an answer to your prayers. Let friendship in. Let people in. Let love in. Smile more and stress less (something extremely hard for me personally :P). Appreciate the little things in life more - a hug from a best friend, a patient friend listening to your stories,  a friend who is non judgmental, those walks during breaks, the window shopping, the incomplete lines which got gulped in the laughter, a flying plane, twinkling stars, time spent with friends who mean more a family! Enjoy while you still are alive. 

Some days she is a warrior. Some days she is a broken mess. Most days she is a bit of both. But everyday she is there. Standing. Fighting. Trying. Spread love rather than hatred. Be supportive of each other rather than trying to pull each other down. Strive to be a better person today than you were yesterday. Dream big and chase it - do not rest until you have got what you want. To those who are fighting a silent battle - #ChooseToChallenge. This year, let it be more about upbringing of each other. "A challenged World is an alert World and from challenge comes change". Not only tomorrow.. let everyday be a celebration 🎉

So come on! Let's all choose to challenge for a better life. For a better tomorrow. For a better "You"!
