Life - Upside Down!

It is 6 in the morning. My alarm rings and I am up within 5secs so my next door neighbor will not complain about the alarm waking them as well 😋

करमूले तु गोविन्दः प्रभाते करदर्शनम् ॥

Just while i am rubbing my hands and placing them over my eyes - I hesitate to touch my face, I am suppressing my cough and trying to check if my throat is hurting?

This has been the pattern for almost a week now. This new virus has not only drained people physically but also mentally. For some of us, this dry cough, sore throat has always been a part and parcel of our lives. But now even a minute of these feeling send a shiver down our spine. One is always worried if this routine is an indication of the scary virus. What is more worse is the thought that if you have got it and are giving it to others as well.

While sharing is caring, given the current situation as the doctors and govt is appealing - at this hour of emergency, what is required most from us is to stay indoors and follow what is known as social distancing! Yes, directly or indirectly you may be helping yourself and others from getting or spreading the virus! Some of us have the luxury of working from home. But there are people working out there - the doctors(God's in disguise of course), bankers(we need our salaries on time for working from home right??) risking their lives just so that we are all safe and content.

The purpose of me writing this piece is for each of us to understand the importance of Life! Yes, we have always had the luxury of taking anything and everything for granted i.e.to say, gym, working out was also a priority while silent walk could be taken. Phone was the priority while still sitting amidst group of friends, Games were a priority while our mom's waited at the table for dinner. In this time of self quarantine, I urge you to think of the good , bad and ugly times you have had. To have been blessed with the "your" time that you are currently in. Count this as a blessing rather than complaining. Think of these:

How you are doing your bit saving the world by staying indoors
How a grand marriage was rethought and the couples are silently happy about a lavish honeymoon which they can plan from this savings
How newly weds are happy about being able to spend more time with each  other
How a wife is happy getting an extra hand at household chores while her hubby has taken a break from work
How the children get to be with the complete family for the complete day everyday
How lovebirds get to experience their relationship as a "long-distance relationship" though they are just a km away from each other
How you broke down about your long planned trip which got cancelled and now you are just home-bound looking at the countless photographs from the destination but still happy you made the right choice to stay back
How easy it is to now know who stayed and is worth the wait and trust

Use this time for your rejuvenation. Know yourself a little more, spend time with your family and grab the opportunity to make your managers trust you more with your work! Slow down the stress, sit back and hope for better days ahead. This is time to not hold back - say what you have always held back. Do what you always wanted to - because its now or never 😊

2020 has just begun ☹️ This virus has indeed brought about an enlightenment for us. What if the Universe is actually trying to tell us something? That yesterday is gone, today is here and tomorrow is only a hope! That we need to value people more than valuing material things. That nothing is here to stay. That how much we have hurt mother earth and now it is time for her to finally relax while we are trying to repair the damage we have done to her. She is our responsibility! Look how we are struggling today while the World has been paused temporarily.

The virus is spreading. Message is love and compassion can be spread too. We do not know until when this problem shall remain. Be compassionate and helping towards the old and new born. All we can do is stay indoors, pray together that everything bad will stop and we can see the light of the day with much healthier perspective.

In the end it is our loved ones and family that are there forever while everything else is a blur!

Trail To Peak!

2020 has indeed been the worst saddening years for most of us. For me, the weight of having to cancel the long pending trekking of the Himalayan ranges had added more pain. However, with having got extra time with family and many small outings with family 2020 ended pretty well! With the descending curve of COVID in Dec, our Org had also rolled out an update that we could return to our office(though not really compulsory) from Jan. I returned from my hometown to Bengaluru during the Christmas holidays and settled in. Bengaluru had almost returned to normalcy by then. So during one of our chai meet ups, one of our friends re-iterated the thought of trekking again in 2021. Since all of us wanted a much needed get-away, all of us without a second thought agreed that we replan our 2020 trekking and within a week we rebooked our slots for Deorital Chandrashila Trek via Indiahikes(IH)(Due to covid in 2020, we had received voucher from IH which we re-used). And then began our rigo...

Turning 30 ;)

This post is a special one 😊 The one about - "Why God why 😭" birthday! A lot of of friends asked me, how special was your first birthday after being married this year? Did your husband make it memorable?   Well.. Here's a post dedicated to the Mr. for making it a beautiful celebration. From being an unplanned backpacker to being the almost Mr.Perfect planner Paveen ensured I enjoyed every bit of my birthday!  😁   I'm definitely not a fan of fancy resorts, so when we took an auto to Stone Wood resort at Gokarna, I almost felt more disappointed that we weren't staying at a hostel by the beach 🙈 But kudos for the arrangement! Having a beautiful hut by the pool was so serene! and when it was time for the cake cutting, we were trying to find the perfect place by the beach.. and we made it to cutting the cake with dj at a restaurant!    The most memorable part of the celebration was a sky lantern. I'd been bragging about wantin...
